Downeast CU and Downeast Insurance recently donated $10,000 to Richmond Middle and High School for the construction of a new softball field scoreboard.

Through business practices, outreach, education, contributions and volunteerism, Downeast CU and Insurance are committed to the communities they serve. The scoreboard donation aligns with Downeast’s core value of community, showing their strong commitment and dedication to the Richmond area.

“We are proud to support our hometown bobcats with this donation,” shared Stacy Johansen, President of Downeast Insurance. “We know the positive impact sports can have on our young athletes, building lifelong skills in teamwork, dedication, and perseverance. Sponsoring the scoreboard is another way for Downeast to show how proud we are of these young athletes.”

The new digital scoreboard will be installed this spring in time for the softball season.

“Downeast made the fundraising process very easy on us,” adds Jon Spear, Athletic Director at Richmond Middle and High School. “We had hoped that they would be part of the project but had not expected them to cover the full amount of the scoreboard.”
