There is still time to join your League for either one or two full days of complete IRA knowledge on Tuesday, March 24, and Wednesday, March 25, at the Augusta Civic Center. There will be two IRA workshops: IRA Essentials and IRA Beyond Basics Workshop.
Day one starts with IRA Essentials on Tuesday, March 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This beginner's workshop is meant for credit union employees with little to no IRA knowledge. Attendees will get an introduction on IRAs including an explanation of benefits and the differences between Traditional and Roth IRAs. This workshop will also cover the fundamentals on establishing an IRA, funding, distribution, and portability of IRAs including rollovers and transfers. IRA Essentials gives attendees a solid foundation of IRA knowledge. Exercises are included throughout the day to help participants apply information to job-related situations. Attendees will leave this session able to work with IRA owners and process basic IRA transactions with confidence. All attendees should come prepared with a hand-held calculator.

Attendees of the IRA Beyond Essentials Workshop will build on the fundamentals to tackle some of the more complex IRA issues credit unions may face. Please join your League for the second day of IRA learning on Wednesday, March 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In this advanced workshop, attendees will expand their knowledge on resolving contribution issues, targeting portability problems, and recognizing minimum distribution issues, and correcting tax forms.
