Disc Golf Event Raises More Than $3k for Brewer FCU’s Ending Hunger Efforts

On September 24, 21 teams and more than 65 people enjoyed a round of disc golf for a good cause as part of the Whitmore Contracting Disc Golf Tournament. The annual event benefits Brewer FCU’s Campaign for Ending Hunger efforts and supports local food pantries and food cupboards in the area.

“This year was a great year to offer friends and families an opportunity to get outside, enjoy a round of disc golf while social distancing, and raise money for a very important cause,” David DeFroscia, President and CEO of Brewer FCU. “We were pleased to see so many people and local businesses eager to support this effort.”

More than $3,000 was raised at the event, which was held at D.R. Disc Golf in Orrington. Many local businesses served as tournament sponsors including Whitmore Contracting, Synergent, D.R. Disc Golf, Tricorp FCU, Penny Lane Bar & Grille, Don Brown Attorney at Law, Larry Eckert & Sons, G&M Market, D&S Auto, Bangor Federal, Sebasticook FCU, Acadia FCU, Tricia Largay, Dunkin Donuts, P&P Transport, Bangor Window Shade, CUSO Home Lending, and Katahdin FCU.

The credit union extends its thanks to everyone who was involved in making this year’s disc golf tournament a big success!
