In celebration of Youth Financial Literacy Month, Dirigo FCU brought learning to life with a special visit from Slugger, the mascot of the Portland Sea Dogs.
Families gathered for a fun, high-energy event where kids had the chance to meet Slugger, snap photos, and take part in activities designed to introduce basic financial concepts. To keep the momentum going, Dirigo handed out mini wooden baseball bats along with financial literacy coloring and activity sheets making it easy for kids to continue learning at home.
By blending a hometown favorite with simple, engaging tools, Dirigo FCU turned an important topic into a memorable experience. For many, meeting Slugger was the highlight, but the real win was helping young members take their first steps toward understanding money.
The event was a great reminder that when education is fun, it sticks.
