CUSO Home Lending Installs Veteran Financial Executive as President & CEO

Lori Michaud has been selected by the CUSO Home Lending Board of Directors as the organization’s President and CEO.

CUSO Home Lending, based in Hampden, is a licensed mortgage company, owned by Maine and New Hampshire credit unions. It began originating and servicing mortgages in 1993 and Michaud was there as Underwriting Manager when the doors first opened.

“I am very excited to assume the role of President & CEO,” said Michaud. “My goal is to build on our strong foundation as we navigate the mortgage market of today and the future.”

Michaud has been the interim CEO since September 2022, guiding the business—and customers—through a dynamic and sometimes difficult real estate and lending market.

“We are a solid, well-positioned company and I look forward to working with the employees and Board to ensure our business reaches its full potential,” Michaud added.

CUSO Board Chair Scott Chretien offered the Board’s full support to Michaud, who has been part of the company’s leadership team for the past 25 years.

“The Board is pleased to announce Lori Michaud as its next President & CEO. She is a nationally recognized and respected industry leader, and we are certain she will be an innovative leader for CUSO Home Lending, helping credit unions and their members throughout Maine and New Hampshire.”

Lori Michaud is currently President of the Board for the Maine Association of Mortgage Professionals, President of the New England Credit Union Real Estate Network, and sits on the steering committee for the Maine Sister Society of the Global Women’s Leadership Network. Lori also served on the board for Greater Bangor Habitat for Humanity.
