Cumberland County FCU is happy to announce that it raised $1,913.36 through its first annual Giving Tree program. During the months of November and December, members and employees were encouraged to make a monetary donation or contribute a non-perishable food item to support local food pantries.
“The generosity of our members and employees continues to amaze me,” said Scott Harriman, President & CEO at Cumberland County FCU. “We have certainly been through another difficult year and yet our community still came together to help neighbors in need. I want to thank everyone for continuing to support our fundraising efforts.”
When the credit union combined the funds raised from the Giving Tree program with dollars generated by other fundraising efforts for the Campaign for Ending Hunger, a total of $9,178.36 was available to support six community food pantries. The amount was divided and shared with the Falmouth Food Pantry, Gray Community Food Pantry, Preble Street, Westbrook Food Pantry, Windham Food Pantry, and the Yarmouth Food Pantry.
