CU Job Shadow Program Begins

Atlantic FCU CEO Scott Chretien speaks with Representative Poppy Arford during a special credit union visit.

This week, the League’s Governmental Affairs team coordinated its first Credit Union Connection: CU Job Shadow opportunity. Representative Poppy Arford, who represents the 101st district in Brunswick, visited Atlantic FCU on Tuesday. During her time at the credit union, she received a tour and participated in a discussion about the many ways credit unions care for their members, including how institutions like Atlantic FCU are staying vigilant against the global rise in fraud.

“We are grateful to Scott Chretien and his team at Atlantic for hosting Representative Arford,” shared Robert Caverly, League Vice President of Advocacy & Outreach. “We also appreciate Representative Arford’s willingness to spend time learning more about her local credit union and its rich history. The CU Job Shadow program is a new offering at our League, and it’s one we hope many legislators will take advantage of in the weeks ahead. Creating connections like these plays an integral role in the League’s advocacy work on behalf of Maine’s credit unions.”
