Credit Union Employee Compensation Research Distributed to CEOs


Prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, the League shared the results of a recent survey conducted by Portland Research Group (PRG) with Maine credit union CEOs. The goal of PRG’s research was to better understand the level of compensation offered to Maine-based credit union employees. Salary positions examined included:

  • Head Teller
  • Teller
  • Universal Employee
  • Member Service Representative
  • Loan Originator
  • Loan Processor
  • Loan Underwriter
  • Collections Officer
  • Collections Specialist
  • Compliance Officer
  • Card Service Specialist
  • Accounting Clerk
  • Receptionist

Forty-six Maine credit unions offered their input, resulting in a 93.9% response rate.

Across the board, salaries have increased since 2019 for credit union positions. The report also details salary breakouts across asset size and regions in the state.
