cPort CU is proud to announce its donation of $25,000 towards the new McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success on the University of Southern Maine (USM) Portland Campus. The McGoldrick Center will serve as a hub for providing students with the resources and opportunities to develop leadership skills and forge relationships with employers to lead to significant career opportunities.

Roughly 10% of the local credit union’s employees are alumni, with some cPort employees currently enrolled. That is why they have chosen to support USM’s Great University Campaign by contributing towards the McGoldrick Center. The state-of-the-art facility will foster collaboration and connection among students, faculty, alumni, and employers. cPort CU’s gift will sponsor the Student Government Business Office, located on the third floor of the new McGoldrick Center.

“At cPort Credit Union, we understand the power of education and the importance of empowering students to reach their full potential,” says Gene Ardito, cPort CU’s President and CEO. “That’s why we are proud to sponsor the Student Government Business Office as part of USM’s McGoldrick Center. This exciting initiative will serve as a beacon in the Portland community and a springboard for tomorrow’s future leaders.”

Of note, the new Center is among the most environmentally sustainable buildings on the USM Portland Campus.
