Connected CU Supports JMG Students at Cony High School

Connected CU is engaged in an exciting partnership in its community. The credit union is teaming up with local students in the Jobs for Maine Graduates (JMG) program at Cony High School to help them with their first project of the year: feeding their community.

“Connected Credit Union has been involved with the JMG program for several years now,” said Wendy Brochu, Marketing Director at Connected CU. “We share the common belief that investing in the future of these young adults will set them on a path to success based on the fundamental skills they learn in the program.”

As part of their food drive, the students are working to collect 1,000 boxes of cereal, a popular item at the Augusta Food Bank. Connected CU is serving as a cereal drop-off location for this effort. Donations can be delivered to the credit union through March 12.

Because small acts of kindness can create a domino effect, the JMG students have a unique plan to demonstrate the power of philanthropy. On March 18, students will line their collected cereal boxes in a domino formation in the school’s auditorium. One lucky student will push the first box, creating what the program hopes will be a symbolic chain reaction to inspire other students to help those in need in their community.

“We are proud to support their efforts and we look forward to our continued partnership,” said Brochu.
