Congressman Golden Meets with League and Credit Union Leaders

Last Friday, Congressman Jared Golden and his campaign met with the League to provide updates on his work in Congress, the political environment, and to solicit feedback on what credit unions are hearing from their members. The meeting was hosted by Dirigo FCU at their Lewiston branch and representatives of four other area credit unions joined the League for this special meeting.

“A big thank you goes out to Mark Samson and the Dirigo FCU team for hosting this event on short notice,” said Robert Caverly, Vice President of Governmental Affairs. “Maintaining open communication and dialogue with our elected officials is critical to our overall advocacy effort. Congressman Golden got important and meaningful feedback from the credit unions that attended. Thank you to all those who could attend this event in-person.”

The impact of inflation on the local economy, cybersecurity, and how to best get small businesses the lending they need were some of the topics discussed.
