Community Recycle Day Returns for 2023

Jarrad DeVaughn, a Community CU volunteer, helps unload a vehicle at the 2022 Recycle Day event.

Community CU is hosting a Community Recycle Day Drive-Thru on April 15, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, at 40 Stanley Street in Auburn. This annual event began in 2009 to commemorate Earth Day and encourages the community to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

As part of the event, community partners will join forces to provide a convenient and free way for people to dispose items including documents and tires, or donate new or gently-used reusable resources (i.e., art supplies, craft materials, school and business supplies, home furnishings, sports equipment) for the SHAREcenter. There also will be a can and bottle drive to benefit the SHAREcenter and a food drive to support Kaydenz Kitchen.

New partners collaborating at this year’s event include Kommunity Kritters, who will be on-site collecting cat litter, cat food, cat treats, and cat toys, and North Coast Services, who will be collecting and recycling electronic devices.

There is no cost to attend and you do not need to be a member of Community CU to participate. Please visit Community CU’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/communitycreditunion) for additional event details.
