On August 10, local businesses, community leaders, and residents from the greater Lewiston/Auburn area came out in support of Make-A-Wish Maine at the 5th Annual Summer Block Party.
The event featured a dunk tank that was sponsored by Community CU. Several local celebrities braved the tank including police and fire department personnel, Senator Nate Libby, Corey Garrison from 99.9 The Wolf, Leif Erickson from 107.5 Frank FM, and Community CU’s own President/CEO Jennifer Hogan.
To raise additional funds for Make-A-Wish Maine, the credit union sold Wish Stars and held a Casual Dress for a Cause week for employees. Through all of its efforts, Community CU raised $4,160 for Make-A-Wish Maine. Their support and the proceeds from this year’s Summer Block Party will go a long way in fulfilling the wishes of critically ill children living in the area.
