Chapter Snowmobile Run Raises Over $5,600

The snowmobilers stop for a quick break in the sun during the Aroostook Chapter of CU’s Annual Snowmobile Charity Run.

Despite sub-zero temperatures, 22 registered snowmobilers participated in the Aroostook Chapter of Credit Union’s Annual Snowmobile Charity Run on February 20. Members and staff from Acadia FCU, NorState FCU, and The County FCU took a day away from work in support of two important charities. The event raised over $5,600 to support Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger and Special Olympics Maine. Denise Duperré, NorState Executive Marketing Director and Aroostook Chapter of Credit Unions President, guided the tour which covered 100 miles of beautiful trails and scenery.

The day’s festivities concluded with a chapter meeting and dinner at Lakeview Restaurant in St. Agatha, where attendees heard from guest speaker Cory Lathrop, a top fundraiser for the Trek Across Maine. Lathrop discussed the importance of building relationships and saying thank you, and shared his insights for encouraging charitable giving.
