Changing Lives at NorState FCU

Spare change truly adds up when the fees collected throughout the year from NorState FCU’s coin sorter machines are totaled and donated to worthy charities.

Since 2014, NorState FCU has donated the fees that members and non-members pay to use the credit union’s coin sorter machines at its Presque Isle, Fort Kent, and Madawaska locations. In 2022, $6,000 was collected and donated to Angel Flight NE and Patient AirLift Services (PALS).

“On behalf of Angel Flight NE, I would like to thank NorState FCU and its community members for their continued belief in and support of our vital mission,” said Larry Camerlin, President and Founder of Angel Flight NE. “This is a perfect example of how even the smallest of donations is making a meaningful impact in the lives of so many.”

With many Aroostook County residents having to travel far distances for procedures and appointments, the services that Angel Flight NE and PALS provide are crucial to patients in need.

“I am grateful for PALS since they have provided me with air travel since I was a young girl,” said local patient Hadley McLean. “It meant that my parents did not have to drive the long trips back and forth to Boston for my medical appointments. PALS is a blessing for people who need medical transportation.”

NorState FCU has announced that the recipient of its 2023 coin sorter machine fundraiser will be the Aroostook Veterans Alliance. This organization was created with the sole mission of assisting Aroostook County veterans and their families.
