CU Insurance Solutions held its Annual Meeting on May 2, bringing together credit union professionals from across the state. In addition to conducting organizational business, the meeting served as an opportunity to spotlight a cause that is deeply meaningful in Maine’s credit union movement—Special Olympics Maine.
During the meeting, attendees celebrated a remarkable achievement: more than $115,000 was raised collectively to support Special Olympics Maine and its incredible athletes. This fundraising milestone is a testament to the enduring commitment of Maine’s credit unions to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and build more inclusive communities.
CU Insurance Solutions also recognized two credit unions that went above and beyond in their fundraising efforts. Capitol Area FCU and Five County CU were honored as this year’s top fundraisers for Special Olympics Maine. Their dedication to the Special Olympics mission is a shining example of the People Helping People philosophy in action.
By standing with Special Olympics Maine, credit unions and credit union service organizations are living out their mission to serve all people with dignity and purpose. Since 1995, over $1.8 million has been raised by Maine’s credit union system to support Special Olympics.
