Credit unions are uniquely positioned to serve and support individuals facing financial instability. Whether it’s our members living on fixed incomes, employees who have experienced economic challenges, or the underserved communities we are committed to helping, understanding poverty’s impact is critical to our mission.
Join us on May 29 at the Credit Union Service Center in Westbrook for an engaging, day-long training that will explore proven concepts, strategies, and approaches to prevent, reduce, and alleviate poverty. Designed specifically for credit union professionals, this session will provide insights into the hidden rules of economic class and the challenges faced by those in poverty, while also offering practical tools to strengthen member relationships, improve employee engagement, and enhance financial outcomes.
This training is ideal for any credit union employee—whether frontline staff, leadership, or back-office teams—who wants to better understand and support members and colleagues navigating financial hardship. There is no fee to attend—unless you would like to order lunch from Panera—and registration is required. The cost for catered lunch is $25.00. If you would like to partake, please email Jordan Inkley and let her know know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. You may bring your own lunch and snacks, as well.
