Bid for a Cause: The 2026 Campaign for Ending Hunger Online Auction is Now Open!


The 2026 Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger Online Auction is officially underway, offering supporters an opportunity to help fight food insecurity across Maine while bidding on an impressive collection of auction items. Even just in this first week, the bidding has been rather competitive!

Join in on the fun now at campaignforendinghunger.org/auction2026. Supporters are encouraged to share the link with friends, family, and colleagues who may be interested in participating.

Every bid contributes to the Campaign for Ending Hunger and the local organizations working tirelessly to ensure Maine families have reliable access to healthy, nutritious food. By taking part, bidders directly support efforts that help individuals and communities thrive.

This year’s auction features more than 60 unique items, including gift cards, concert and event tickets, themed gift baskets, experiences, and much more. Whether you’re looking for a memorable outing, the perfect gift, or a special treat for yourself, every purchase and bid helps advance the fight against hunger in Maine.

How It Works

To view all this year’s incredible auction items and place your bids, use your computer, smartphone, or tablet to visit the auction website. Please note: When scrolling through items on your computer, ensure your mouse cursor is hovering over the item list and not the page sidebar so you can view all available items.

Listings display photos, item titles and categories, and current bid amounts. If you find an item you like, select it to view more information. When you click an item, you will see the full description of the item, who donated it, and its value.

This is also where you can place a bid on the item or watch it by favoriting it with the heart icon. All items also have a “Buy Now” feature if there is something you really can’t pass up!

If you choose to bid on, watch, or buy an item, you will be prompted to create an account (or log into your existing account from previous auction years). From here, you can follow the below directions:

Step 1

Enter your email address and create a password. If you participated in a previous auction, you may already have an account. If you cannot remember your password, select “Sign In,” enter your email address, and choose “Forgot Your Password” to reset your credentials. If you’re unsure which email address you used previously, consider trying both your personal and work email accounts.

Step 2

Enter your first and last name along with your mobile phone number. Once registration is complete, you will receive a text message containing a direct link to the auction site on your mobile device. If you prefer to browse and bid using a computer or tablet, simply visit the auction website and sign in using your email address and password.

Step 3

When you place a bid or select “Buy Now,” you will be prompted to enter a credit card. This payment method will only be charged if you are the winning bidder or make a direct purchase. Charges will be processed after the auction concludes at 3:15 pm on Thursday, June 11.

Step 4

After submitting a bid, you will have the option to enter a maximum bid amount. This feature allows the platform (OneCause) to automatically increase your bid in designated increments whenever another participant places a higher bid, up to the maximum amount you’ve authorized.

If another bidder surpasses your maximum bid, you will receive a text notification. You can also monitor all watched items and active bids through the “My Items” section of the auction site.

What Happens After the Auction Ends?

The auction closes at 3:15 pm on June 11. After the event concludes, participants should check their account to see if they have won any items and prepare for payment processing. Winning bidders will also receive a text notification confirming their successful bids.

Collecting Your Auction Items

Winning items may be picked up at Elevate on June 11 at the Holiday Inn By the Bay between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. Those unable to attend the event may have someone else from their organization pick up the item on their behalf or coordinate pick-up at the League’s office in Westbrook.
