As part of the new Maine CU League website, which includes enhanced tools, resources and information, we are spotlighting various Tabs on the site to help visitors and users better understand where and what some of the enhancements are. This week, we go Behind the Tab to learn more about the Governmental Affairs section.
Under the Governmental Affairs Tab, users will find information and resources including various links, such as Advocacy, which highlights both state and national legislative issues as well as regulatory advocacy; Political Involvement, which is where visitors will find a new Political Involvement Guide that can help enhance an individual’s involvement in political activities and information about the 2018 Elections; CULAC, the federal and state PACs that help support credit union-friendly candidates and elected officials; Legislative Events, a section that spotlights events including Hike the Hill, CUNA’s GAC, CU Day at the State House, and the Legislative Forum; and the Auctions link, many of which are for CULAC as well as Ending Hunger.
Governmental Affairs is a significant part of what your League provides to credit unions, and its success impacts credit unions in many ways. “We want to provide tools, resources and information to help credit unions not only stay informed, but also to get more engaged in governmental affairs activities. The new section is a great place to begin, and we will be adding to it on an on-going basis,” explained Jon Paradise, Vice President of Public Affairs and Engagement for the Maine CU League.
