Pine Street in Lewiston may look a little different, thanks to the creative efforts of the Community CU team.
The credit union partnered with the City of Lewiston to design, create, and install banners to welcome people to the Pine Street neighborhood. Funding for the project came through a $5,000 downtown beautification grant sponsored by Healthy Neighborhoods, a coalition of community stakeholders that work together to improve housing, stewardship, safety, and access to food and medical services for the downtown Lewiston area.
Despite some challenges, the team at Community CU felt it was important to move forward with this beautification project to inspire those living in their neighborhood. Twelve banners were printed and installed by Neokraft Signs and are on display on Pine Street from Kennedy Park to the intersection of Webster Street.
