Bangor Federal Donates Clothing to Two Area Organizations

Bangor Federal employees fill bags with items to help keep local residents warm this winter.

Serving their community is a responsibility employees at Bangor Federal take seriously. Because they are deeply involved in the greater Bangor area, they know how challenging the cold winter months can be for many local families. To help, staff have been collecting hats, mittens, coats, gently used clothing, and other items for those in need and on January 21, delivered these goods to two worthy organizations.

Employees visited the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter’s warming center and Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine, Inc. (AFFM) & The Kinship Program. Staff also had an opportunity to help AFFM organize its new resource center for clients and families.

“We really believe in supporting our area,” said Tina Morrill, Director of Marketing at Bangor Federal Credit Union. “We definitely want to be there for local organizations and we are really proud to be a part of the area.”

WABI-TV 5 and Fox 22 were with Bangor Federal as they delivered their donations. Boyd Kronholm, Executive Director at the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter, mentioned he hopes other businesses can offer their support as well.

“Our warming center has been open since the middle of November and we are, most nights, full of people,” said Kronholm. “We have an infinite amount of need and a finite amount of resources. Any of these donations coming in this time of year are great.”
