Atlantic FCU congratulates Sophia Borie of Topsham, the recipient of the 2020 Atlantic/Amable & Vivian Caron $2,500 College Scholarship. Sophia currently attends the University of Southern Maine. She was selected from numerous entries to receive the award after submitting an application and writing a short essay detailing how COVID-19 has personally impacted her.
“I wish Sophia the best as she continues her education,” said Scott Chretien, President/Chief Executive Officer at Atlantic FCU. “It is an honor to share the enduring legacy of Amable A. Caron and Vivian Caron. They were longtime members of the credit union and they wanted to help younger members pursue higher education.”
The application process for the Atlantic FCU College Scholarship for high school seniors will be announced in February 2021. Five scholarships totaling $20,000 will be awarded.
