For a season that starts in the dog days of August, it all comes down to six teams competing to be crowned 'State Champion' in one of the three title games for High School Football that will be decided at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland on Championship Saturday on Saturday, November 21st. While thousands will make the trek from north, south, east and west to cheer on their favorite team, thousands will not be able to be at the game. Thanks to strong support from Maine's credit unions, there is a way to enjoy the games without being there. Once again, through its shared branching radio advertising, Maine's credit unions are one of the major sponsors of the games being broadcast on The Big Jab 96.3 FM.
"The audience for these games on the radio is impressive, as there is a lot of interest from people who are not only fans of the teams competing but of high school football, in general. High school football is still very popular in Maine, and this is an opportunity to promote Maine's credit unions to a large audience tuning on to hear the action," remarked Debra Trautman, VP of Corporate Marketing for your League.
The first game begins at 11:00 a.m., with Class A game between defending champion, Thornton Academy, and undefeated Portland High School. The Class B game will be at 2:30 p.m., in a battle between two undefeated teams, Winslow and Yarmouth. The final game of the day is for the Class C title with Brunswick vs. Marshwood starting at 6 p.m.
