Annual Awards Honor Diverse Group Of Individuals


On Friday, May 15, your League presented its Annual Awards to seven individuals who, combined, have nearly 150 years of experience being involved with Maine's credit unions.  "These individuals are committed and work tirelessly on behalf of their credit unions and, in many cases, all of Maine's credit unions.  The Annual Awards are an opportunity to recognize some of these outstanding individuals," remarked Richard Dupuis, Chair of your League's Annual Awards & Convention Committee.

The 42nd recipients of your League's Annual Awards are:

Alexander Ferguson Award for Outstanding CU Volunteer - Marc Doyon, Board Chair at TruChoice FCU.  Doyon has served on the CU's Board for more than 25 years, and was praised for "mentoring others and his tireless work on behalf of the credit union's members."  View video announcing Doyon.

Jeannette G. Morin Award for Outstanding CU Employee - Nancy Blodgett, Otis FCU.  Retiring this June after 38 years of working for the credit union, one co-worker called Nancy "someone who will be difficult to not have in the workplace.  She is such a great resource to us all."  View video announcing Blodgett.

James M. Gratto Award for Outstanding Credit Union CEO - Roger Sirois, President/CEO of Atlantic Regional FCU.  Since 1986, Sirois has worked at the credit union and become President/CEO in 2008.  Upon receiving the honor, Sirois expressed appreciation to "the many people who make me look good."  View video announcing Sirois.

League President's Award - Kyle Casburn, President/CEO of Seaboard FCU.  In presenting the Award to Casburn, League President John Murphy called him "bright, articulate and willing to tackle the tough issues.  He is a great CEO and a great volunteer on the Maine CU League's Board."  View video announcing Casburn.

Diane L. Oceretko 'People Helping People' Award - Donna Ketchen, VP at Penobscot County FCU.  Ketchen, who will also retire this year after 20 years at the CU, was recognized for her "commitment and passion of helping others, especially her work and involvement with the Maine CUs' Campaign for Ending Hunger."  View video announcing Ketchen.

Denis A. Letourneau, Jr., Award for Outstanding League Employee - Trever Jackson, Corporate Information Systems at Synergent.  League President John Murphy recognized Jackson for "caring deeply about the credit unions we serve and the thousands of members they serve."  View video announcing Jackson.
