With this year being an election year, it can be good to think about how your credit union is engaging members and staff around civic participation and to take advantage of the election resources available through America’s Credit Unions (ACU). These three tools available through ACU are designed to make advocacy easier during the election cycle.
A great place to start is the Member Activation Program (MAP). The MAP is built to help credit unions engage their strongest advocacy asset: their people. With ready-to-use content, credit unions can easily share advocacy and election-related information with members and staff and help them understand how and why they can play a role in protecting the future of their credit union.
Another key resource to share with members is Credit Unions Vote. The website is member-facing and designed to increase voter awareness and participation by putting important election information in one place. People can check their voter registration status, find polling locations, review ballot information, and sign up for reminders.
Finally, following every election, results are updated on the 2026 Elections Hub. The hub allows credit unions to track PAC-supported candidates across the country through an interactive map, see who advanced and who won, and view which races are headed to runoffs—all in real time as the cycle unfolds. It also provides helpful context by linking to advocacy priorities and past election results.
Together, MAP, Credit Unions Vote, and the 2026 Elections Hub give credit unions a full election year toolkit to help educate and keep members and employees informed at every stage of the process. If it’s been a while since you’ve last reviewed what ACU offers, our League encourages you to check out their extensive collection of materials.
