Acadia FCU believes strongly in the value of education and proudly invests in Maine’s future by offering financial support to students who need it. Recently, Acadia FCU announced it will award three local high school seniors who are planning to attend college with a $2,000 scholarship. The three $2,000 awards will help the selected graduates offset the cost of their college education.
“As a member of the communities we serve, Acadia FCU strongly believes in and supports funding educational opportunities for our students,” said Jill Bouchard Cairns, Chief Relationship Officer at Acadia FCU. “In doing so, we play a vital role in sustaining our future. By providing scholarship assistance, we enable greater access to college with the goal of ensuring our recipients can focus on their studies.”
The Acadia FCU college scholarship is available to current Maine high school seniors who meet all of the following criteria:
- Attend high school in Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, or Washington County.
- Plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college or university.
- Have an active Acadia FCU membership or have parent(s)/guardian(s) with an active membership.
Those who meet Acadia FCU’s scholarship criteria can complete an application online at acadiafcu.org. The deadline to apply is April 17, 2022.
