Acadia FCU Celebrates New Operations Center with Open House

Visitors enjoy the open house at Acadia FCU’s new operations center.

Acadia FCU celebrated the opening of their newly-renovated operations center on June 21 with a well-attended open house.

“I was really excited to share our newest workspace with the public at our open house for the operations center,” said David Desjardins, Acadia FCU President/CEO. “I believe this showcases Acadia’s commitment to our employees, our community, and our members by redeveloping a building that will service our needs both presently and well into the future.”

Acadia FCU staff welcomed approximately 225 guests, offered tours of the facility, and provided supporting historical information about the building. Visitors engaged socially over light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments and received a free gift for their attendance.

Located on roughly 16 acres of land at 69 Pleasant Street in Fort Kent, the 10,418 square foot building has centralized northern region senior leadership and administrative positions. At this time, 22 Acadia teammates occupy the building, including human resources, finance, operations, marketing, compliance, information technology, and training departments. Additionally, a six-person phone and internet support team is housed there, taking all inbound support requests via phone, email, and chat.

Ergonomics, comfort, and making the best use of natural light were at the forefront of planning the renovation. Modern sit-stand stations and fully-adjustable monitor mounts are part of every workspace. Most spaces have at least one full wall of glass to help let light in while making teammates accessible, creating a more inviting atmosphere. The floor plan also features collaborative spaces to allow teammates to come together to brainstorm, exchange ideas, and problem-solve.

Acadia FCU’s growth over the last several years is reflected with this building and much thought was given to accommodating future growth. The building was most recently occupied by Ameridial and built by MBNA Corporation in 1999.
