As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to take a moment to thank you for being part of the credit union movement. This season naturally reminds us to pause and appreciate the people who make a difference in our lives, and for me, that’s all of you.
Thank you for continuing to place your trust in me and my staff at the League. Your spirit of cooperation, your dedication to your members, and your commitment to your communities are what make this industry so special. Working alongside you is an honor.
Over the past year, you’ve shown—yet again—why credit unions are essential to the well-being of Mainers. During the government shutdown, you acted quickly and compassionately to support those suddenly facing uncertainty. You offered solutions, stability, and kindness when people needed it most. That willingness to step up speaks volumes about who you are.
And your impact doesn’t stop there. Your continued efforts to Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger, along with your deep support for the Children’s Miracle Network, Special Olympics Maine, and so many other local causes, make a real and lasting difference. These examples demonstrate to all of us what it truly means to carry out the People Helping People philosophy.
I don’t think it can be said enough: thank you. Thank you for everything you do for your members, for your communities, and for each other. You make this industry stronger, more compassionate, and more resilient.
From all of us at the League, we wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope it is filled with connection, gratitude, and all the things that matter most.
