2025 Federal Reserve Holiday Observances Announced


It’s hard to believe 2025 is just a couple of weeks away, and with it comes a whole new year to uplift our communities, fundraise for local charities, strengthen connections, and of course—continue to serve members and support their financial well-being. As you look ahead to the 2025 calendar year, you will want to keep in mind the below official Federal Reserve holiday occurrences to plan member service around branch closures. 

The Federal Reserve has noted that for all holidays falling on a Saturday, branches will be open the preceding Friday, but the Board of Governors will be closed. For all Sunday holidays, Federal Reserve offices will be closed the following Monday. 

2025 Federal Reserve holidays include: 

  • January 1: New Year’s Day 
  • January 20*: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. 
  • February 17: Washington’s Birthday 
  • May 26: Memorial Day 
  • June 19: Juneteenth National Independence Day 
  • July 4: Independence Day 
  • September 1: Labor Day 
  • October 13: Columbus/Indigenous Peoples’ Day 
  • November 11: Veterans Day 
  • November 27: Thanksgiving Day 
  • December 25: Christmas Day 

*On January 20, 2025, the Federal Reserve institutions are closed to recognize the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. along with the Board of Governors, who will also be closed in observance of Inauguration Day.
