New Dimensions FCU hosted its 11th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show on June 7, raising an impressive $18,226.49 in support of the Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP). Despite challenging weather conditions, more than 100 car enthusiasts proudly displayed their vehicles, helping to make this year’s event another meaningful milestone in the ongoing fight against childhood cancer.
Although attendance was smaller than in previous years, the car show still had a powerful impact. A touching highlight of the day was the appearance of special guest Shelby Belanger, whose son Asher received support from the MCCP during his battle with cancer. Asher, an avid car enthusiast who proudly shared that he “loves cars,” had the chance to see many of his favorites on display. His story deeply resonated with attendees. Belanger shared how the MCCP provided crucial support to her family throughout their journey, delivering a heartfelt message that left the crowd visibly moved. Her words served as a powerful reminder of the vital role these funds play in supporting Maine families facing pediatric cancer.
Since its inception, the Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show has raised an impressive $208,313.55 for MCCP, demonstrating the community’s remarkable generosity and the ongoing commitment to supporting children in need.
