Take Note of Two Deadlines in the Week Ahead
A new year is officially underway, which means the League is working hard to wrap up two important credit union efforts: 2022 fundraising for Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger and credit union volunteer tracking. Deadlines are fast approaching! Have you provided the League your credit union’s information?
Arrest Made in Local Check Fraud Scheme
As the League has been reporting, we’ve seen an uptick in fraud in recent weeks, especially as it relates to check fraud. While there has been little good news to report on the fraud front as of late, a positive development occurred earlier this week.

Report Your 2022 Volunteerism Efforts Before It’s Too Late
With 2023 just around the corner, now is the time to look back and reflect on all of the good you did within your community this past year. Perhaps your staff spent time volunteering at your local animal shelter, packing food at Good Shepherd Food Bank, or collecting winter wear for your neighbors in need. While you think back on your credit union’s philanthropic efforts, ask yourself, “Did we track our volunteer hours through CUs Share for ME?” There’s still time to get those hours in! It is important that the full scope of your credit union’s volunteerism is recorded.
Happy Holidays!

100% Credit Union Participation Fuels the Campaign for Ending Hunger's Success
Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger has grown exponentially since it began in 1990. The success of this important initiative is rooted in the strong participation of all Maine credit unions lending their strong support to this signature cause. As we wrap up fundraising for the year, we hope we can once again count on every credit union to make a contribution.
Get to Know Your Local State Representatives
Credit union advocacy in Augusta helps our movement achieve our public policy goals. With a new Legislature already sworn in and beginning their work, our League wants to provide your credit union an opportunity to meet your state representatives. Equally important is the chance for them to hear from you about issues that matter to you and your members.
