Another Successful Hike the Hill
Last week, credit union representatives, CEOs, and League staff met with regulators and elected officials in Washington, DC, during Hike the Hill. The trip provided a fantastic opportunity to bring up important issues with key policymakers like interchange and the Credit Union Board Modernization Act.
Injunction Issued on Small Business Lending Rule
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas issued a nationwide injunction that prohibits the implementation or enforcement of the Small Business Lending Rule. Credit unions will not be expected to implement the rule until litigation is concluded. The rule in question would impose a significant reporting burden on credit unions that make at least 100 business loans of any size in a year.
New Social Media Assets Developed to Warn Against Scams
Unfortunately, credit unions across the state are not seeing a decrease in the number of fraud attacks on their members. However, collectively and independently, we are all doing our very best to supply members with important reminders and key resources for keeping their personal information and finances safe, protected, and private.

Credit unions came together to support organizations and individuals who needed it, and International Credit Union Day celebrations were done in big ways for members and staff. Helping Lewiston Heal
Our League is deeply for appreciative of the outpouring of support for our Lewiston-area credit unions and their members. So many credit unions (and their members) have contributed to the Norm Nolette Chapter of Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger ‘Feed the First’ fundraiser. This special initiative is being coordinated in partnership Lewiston-Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Foundation. There is still time to donate and offer support to other organizations who are assisting the community.

We are all in shock over what transpired in Lewiston. There truly are no words that can capture the sadness we are feeling today, and will continue feeling in the days ahead.
