With the holiday season upon us, the Campaign for Ending Hunger Holiday Meals for Mainers initiative is officially underway for 2024. Running from now until December 26, this effort encourages people to provide the gift of a holiday meal to someone in need during this season of giving. Raising critical funds for those struggling with the harsh realities of food insecurity also offers the opportunity to simultaneously generate awareness about hunger and the difficulties many individuals and families face due to limited resources.

Counterfeit Bills Could Be Circulating in Maine


Last week, multiple news outlets reported about an East Machias man that was arrested for robbery and for trying to pass counterfeit money. According to these news sources, approximately $3,800 in fake $20 and $100 bills were seized. These bills contained “For Motion Picture Purposes” on them.

OTIS FCU Hosts First Annual Cornhole Tournament for Ending Hunger


The results are in! OTIS FCU hosted their first annual Cornhole Tournament for Ending Hunger on Sunday, October 6 at Boondocks Farm in Canton, and they are thrilled to announce the fundraiser was a great success. In total, thanks to the support of attendees, staff, and area businesses, the credit union raised $3,655 for local food pantries.

Maine Family FCU Raises Over $1,000 in One Day for the Campaign for Ending Hunger


Maine Family FCU proudly announced the success of its recent “Strapped for Cash” fundraiser, held on November 1 to support the Campaign for Ending Hunger. During this one-day event, credit union employees took turns being “strapped” to a chair for 60-minute increments, encouraging members to donate towards this critical cause. Over the course of eight hours, the credit union raised an impressive $1,085.
