Car Wash to Help End Hunger
The team at Casco FCU always is looking for new and fun ways to raise money for Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. On June 18, the credit union held its first ever Ending Hunger Car Wash at its Ossipee Trail branch.
Forbes Announces 2022 Best-In-State Credit Unions
For the fourth year in a row, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to produce its list of the Best-In-State Credit Unions. More than 26,000 people from all 50 states were surveyed about the financial institutions where they maintain accounts. Just 3.4% of credit unions across the country made the cut for the best-in-state rankings. Find out which five credit unions made the list from Maine!
Great Falls FCU Joins Shared Branching Network
Great Falls Regional FCU has officially joined the Shared Branching Network! Members of the credit union now can access their finances at any other credit union within the Shared Branching Network, while Great Falls Regional FCU branches will begin assisting members needing services on-the-go.
League Announces 2022-2023 Board of Directors
The League is pleased to announce the members of its 2022-2023 Board of Directors, along with the appointment of a new Board Chair and Vice Chair. David Desjardins, representing the Aroostook Chapter of Credit Unions, will serve as the new Chair. John Doe, representing the Northern Penobscot Chapter of Credit Unions, will serve as Vice Chair.
Synergent Honored With Six 2022 MAC Awards
Synergent is pleased to announce it has received six Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) Awards for creative marketing campaigns created for the following credit unions: Acadia FCU, Bayer Heritage FCU, Katahdin FCU, Mississippi FCU, OTIS FCU, and Oxford FCU. MAC Awards are presented annually to celebrate the outstanding contributions credit union marketers make to the People Helping People industry.
Congressman Golden Meets with League and Credit Union Leaders
Last Friday, Congressman Jared Golden and his campaign met with the League to provide updates on his work in Congress, the political environment, and to solicit feedback on what credit unions are hearing from their members. The meeting was hosted by Dirigo FCU at their Lewiston branch and representatives of four other area credit unions joined the League for this special meeting.
FFIEC Announces Availability of 2021 Data on Mortgage Lending
The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) announced the availability of data on 2021 mortgage lending transactions reported under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) by 4,338 U.S. financial institutions. Covered institutions include banks, savings associations, credit unions, and mortgage companies.

New Member Moment Highlights Important Password Considerations
Maine Credit Unions recently created a new Member Moment video that highlights the importance of generating strong passwords to help members protect their accounts. The video also encourages members to change their passwords frequently and to avoid using personal information such as names, birthdays, or phone numbers. Credit unions are encouraged to post Member Moment videos on their social media feeds.
