The League and Synergent Announce Employee of the Year
On January 16, employees from the Maine Credit Union League and Synergent joined together virtually for a special announcement. Each year, one exceptional employee is chosen to receive the distinction of Employee of the Year, and staff rallied to show their support for the newest recipient. The 2024 Denis A. Letourneau, Jr. Outstanding League Employee Award was proudly presented to Kim Nicholas, Product Implementation Analyst!
Maine Credit Unions Reach New Milestone Raising $1.3 Million to End Hunger
Credit union representatives gathered in Freeport on Monday to unveil the fundraising results of their collaborative Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. At a special ceremony hosted by the League, the Campaign announced that it raised $1,303,706.40 in food and monetary donations in 2024. This achievement marks a new fundraising milestone for the Campaign, now celebrating its 35th year of fighting hunger in Maine in 2025.
League Had a Full Week at the State House
It was a busy week in Augusta for the League’s Governmental Affairs team. On Tuesday, the League provided testimony on LD 142 and LD 201. On Wednesday, the League testified in opposition to LD 61, regarding employer surveillance.

Connected CU Announces Successor to President & CEO
Connected CU is excited to announce that their executive search committee has selected Kristen Poremby to fill the role of credit union President. With more than a decade of experience in financial services and a passion for community-focused banking, Poremby brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to the role. She will join the Connected CU “family” in March 2025.
