Cumberland County FCU Announces New Hire and Team Member Promotions
Cumberland County FCU is pleased to announce the following team addition and employee promotions: Bethany Smith has been hired as the Vice President of Accounting; Amy Sithavady has been promoted to Vice President of HR & Compliance; Kimberly Parker has been promoted to Vice President of Service Center Operations; Abby Strout has been promoted to Cards Manager; and Margie Heald has been promoted to Branch Service Manager in Yarmouth.
Atlantic FCU Foundation Now Accepting Applications for $20,000 in College Scholarships
The 2025 Atlantic FCU Foundation College Scholarship Program is now accepting applications. Members graduating high school this spring and planning to continue their education are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Atlantic FCU will award $20,000 worth of financial assistance.
Updates on the CFPB and the Credit Union Board Modernization Act
There have been many changes to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) over the past week. The League’s Governmental Affairs team provides an update on what is going on and how that impacts credit unions in regard to the CFPB as well as the Credit Union Board Modernization Act.
League Staff Busy Advocating for Credit Unions on Bills in Augusta
This week in Augusta, the League presented testimony on three bills and had a work session on two others. The League’s Governmental Affairs team addressed issues of importance for credit unions related to: LD 184, LD 353, LD 314, LD 201, and LD 142. The Legislature will be out of session next week and will return on February 24. Work sessions for the public hearings will be expected at that time.
