State CU winners for Social Responsibility, Member Education and Financial Education announced; National competition awaits

After receiving nearly 25 submissions for consideration for one of the Maine CU League's state awards presented for social responsibility, member education, and financial education, judges from the public relations, marketing and communications fields selected the 2017 state winners.  "We had a strong and diverse field of entries, each representative of some of the great initiatives and programs that credit unions provide to their communities.  Maine credit unions are truly living the 'people helping people' philosophy that has been a trademark of credit unions for nearly a century," remarked Jon Paradise, Vice President of Governmental and Public Affairs for the Maine CU League.

Winners were announced by asset category for all three awards - Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award; Louise Herring Philosophy-In-Action Member Service Award; and the Desjardins Financial Education Award.
