Recently, two Maine CUs completed some exciting projects. In South Portland, Maine Solutions FCU had an official grand opening for its new, retail location on Western Avenue in South Portland. In Lewiston, Rainbow FCU unveiled its new name – Dirigo FCU.
For Maine Solutions FCU, the CU celebrated its move that took place several months ago from its previous, much less visible, location on Foden Road inside the National Semiconductor complex. In addition to moving to a new location, the CU also announced an expanded field of membership. Diana Garcia, President/CEO of Maine Solutions FCU, remarked, “We are pleased to be able to now serve all of Cumberland and York counties. It’s an exciting new chapter for our CU.”
For Rainbow FCU, Mark Samson, President/CEO, said the timing was right for the CU to change its name. “Dirigo is associated with Maine and reflects strength, tradition and opportunity, so we are excited to utilize it as our credit union moves forward.” Samson said the change from Rainbow to Dirigo FCU will continue over the next couple of weeks as new signage arrives and several branches are renovated. “The name is part of an evolution our credit union is undergoing to best serve our members now and in the future.”
