Legislative Leaders from both the Maine House and Senate as well as a number of other legislators welcomed Maine CUs to Augusta for Maine CU Day at the State House. This year’s event was held on Thursday, March 15, in the Hall of Flags at the State House.
Representatives from nearly 30 credit unions were able to attend, despite some snow continuing in the northern part of the state. In addition to multiple conversations and discussions between CU officials and legislators on a range of issues, including the economy, CU priorities, and local issues, the event also included a Legislative Sentiment from the Maine House and Senate recognizing the “significant role of Maine’s credit unions in the lives of the nearly 700,000 credit union members in Maine.”
Representative John Picchiotti, who serves as Board Chair of KSW FCU, presented the Sentiment to Todd Mason, President of the Maine CU League, who accepted it on behalf of Maine’s credit unions.
