The Maine Credit Union System mourns the recent passing of Normand Dubreuil, who served as the long-time CEO of Maine State CU, and served 18 years on the Maine CU League Board including three years as Chairman. Under his leadership, Dubreuil’s credit union significantly increased its commitment to ending hunger and placed first in total funds raised for 11 consecutive years.
At the time of his retirement in 2016, Dubreuil reflected on his career. “I will certainly miss my staff and the volunteers that have been so supportive. It was an honor to come to work each day with people who are dedicated to both the members and the success of the organization. I am proud of the opportunities I have had over the years, the people I have met, and the accomplishments I have had a role in achieving. However, as it was when I started, it is still about the people and that is what I will miss the most.”
Tucker Cole, who succeeded Dubreuil as President/CEO of Maine State CU and served on the League Board with him for a number of years prior to that, remembered Normand as “a humble, dedicated and loyal person. He was so genuine and truly cared about people. I am thankful for his friendship. He was a dear friend, and that is what I will miss the most.”
Todd Mason, President of the Maine CU League, expressed his condolences. “Although I did not know Normand, he clearly made a positive impact on the system and touched many lives. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, colleagues and friends.”
