CUNA Technology Council! One way to go ‘All-In’ with CUNA Councils

In conjunction with the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) 2018 All In Campaign to encourage credit unions from across the country, including Maine, to sign up at least one CU professional for each CUNA Council, your League will be spotlighting a different CUNA Council each week. CUNA Councils provide a perfect complement to your League’s Councils, with one more focused on specific state issues and the other more focused on a national perspective. Credit unions that are represented in all seven CUNA Councils by August 17, 2018, will be entered to win a choice of two prizes, valued up to $10,000. This week, let’s take a closer look at the CUNA Technology Council.

Described as “tech support with a credit union edge,” CUNA’s Technology Council helps members prepare for the new challenges and opportunities that technology brings.  The Council is a great resource to assess how technology impacts the efficiency and effectiveness of your credit union.

There are currently 9 Maine CU professionals that are members of the CUNA Technology Council.  Nathan Davis, Vice President of Information Technology at Evergreen CU, has belonged to the Technology Council for nearly two years.  “The CUNA Technology Council is a valuable resource because it provides access to the collective experience of a large group of IT leaders in the CU industry. The power of being able to ask a question about a third-party product, audit finding, best practice, etc. – is invaluable. It’s a resource that I always check before we make a purchase and review on a daily basis. I greatly value the experience of the CUNA Technology Council and urge anyone in the CU space to participate.”

In addition to the seven CUNA Councils, there are currently four Councils offered through your League including: Financial Education; HR; Lending; and Marketing. Click here to link to the League’s website for information about any of the Maine CU Councils. In addition, Maine has a Compliance Council offering educational programs to member credit unions.
