The 2025 Ending Hunger Online Auction is Open!

Are you ready to win some great items, all in support of our shared signature social responsibility initiative: Maine Credit Union’s Campaign for Ending Hunger? The 2025 Ending Hunger Online Auction is now open!

As many food banks, pantries, and programs face budget and program cuts—affecting their ability to distribute food to hungry Mainers—support is needed now more than ever. With more than 65 items up for grabs, ranging from gift cards to concert tickets and baskets full of goodies, this auction has something for everyone—and even more to come! Whether you are searching for the perfect gift or looking to treat yourself, this is the perfect opportunity to do a little shopping while simultaneously supporting efforts to address food insecurity in communities across the state of Maine.

The auction is open to all credit union, League, and Synergent employees, as well vendors, family, and friends. Please feel free to share the auction link with those in your circle. We also encourage credit unions to forward this information to your volunteers and any others who may want to show their support for the Campaign for Ending Hunger.

How It Works:

To view all this year’s incredible auction items and place your bids, use your computer, smartphone, or tablet to visit https://campaignforendinghunger.org/auction2025. Please note, if you are scrolling through items on your computer, ensure your mouse is hovering over the item listings and not the sidebars of the page to scroll through all items (the platform hosting the website is set up a little funny!).

Listings display photos, item titles and categories, and current bid amounts. If you find an item you like, select it to view more information. When you click an item, you will see the full description of the item, who donated it, and its value

This is also where you can PLACE A BID on the item or watch it by clicking the HEART ICON. All items also have a BUY NOW feature if there is something you really can’t pass up!

If you choose to bid on, watch, or buy an item, you will be prompted to create an account. From here, you can follow the below directions:

  • Step 1: Enter your personal email address and create a password. If you have already bid on items before in last year’s auction, you may already have an account. If you have forgotten your login information, click SIGN IN, enter your email address, and then click “forgot your password.”
    • You may want to try both your personal and your work email if you can’t remember which one you used for your account.
  • Step 2: Enter your first and last name and your cell phone number. Once you have completed these steps, you will receive a text message containing a link that will automatically direct you to the auction website on your mobile device.
  • Step 3: You will be prompted to provide a credit card number if you PLACE BID or BUY NOW so payment can be processed at the close of the auction (2:45 pm on Friday, May 16) if you win.
  • Step 4: After submitting a bid, you will be prompted to set a MAX BID. If you enter a MAX BID amount, the auction platform (OneCause) will automatically bid on your behalf using the bid increments you provided until that maximum bid amount is reached if another user begins bidding against you. If you are outbid on an item, you will receive a text message notifying you. You can also always check on the status of your bid by navigating to the MY ITEMS tab (where you can view items you’ve saved to watch, as well).

After the auction closes at 2:45 pm on May 16, be sure to check if you are the winner of any item(s) so you can arrange pick-up and anticipate the credit card charge for your winnings. You should also receive a text message from the system alerting you to pick up your item(s) if you win.

Collecting Your Auction Item(s):

If you have a winning bid, you can collect your item(s) on May 16 at Elevate, the League’s Annual Meeting & Convention taking place at the Holiday Inn By the Bay, between 3:30 – 4:30 pm. You also can arrange to pick up your item(s) at the League’s office in Westbrook. To arrange a pick-up, please email Lauren Simonds at lsimonds@mainecul.org

If you do not live in the Greater Portland area and are not attending Elevate, your items will be mailed to you by June 6. You may also arrange to have someone from your credit union who is attending the convention bring the item(s) to you.

Questions:

The League is hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Campaign, so please bid high and bid often. If you have questions or need assistance, contact Simonds.
