Kristen Poremby, Connected CU’s incoming President.
Connected CU is excited to announce that their executive search committee has selected Kristen Poremby to fill the role of credit union President. With more than a decade of experience in financial services and a passion for community-focused banking, Poremby brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to the role. She will join the Connected CU “family” in March 2025.
Poremby’s journey in the financial industry began in 2010 as a part-time teller, and through hard work and dedication, she has built a career spanning branch management, lending (consumer, mortgage, and business), compliance, deposit operations, and more. In 2019, she made the move from banks to credit unions, aligning with the credit union philosophy of People Helping People. Her leadership style emphasizes collaboration, member service, and commitment to employee growth and development.
As part of a carefully planned transition, Poremby will work closely alongside current CEO Cathy Bond, ensuring the continuity of leadership when she assumes the full responsibilities of President & CEO upon Bond’s retirement in the fall of 2025.
“Connected CU has a strong legacy of service and member commitment, and I am honored to be entrusted with this leadership role,” said Poremby. “I look forward to continuing the credit union’s mission, strengthening our connections with the community, and ensuring we provide exceptional financial services to our members.”
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Poremby is an enthusiastic and passionate advocate for animal welfare. She serves as the Volunteer and Event Coordinator for Rescue Charlie’s Friends Dog Rescue in Woolwich, an organization that works tirelessly to save the lives of more than six hundred dogs each year. She also contributes to her local community as a member of her city’s Board of Appeals. In her free time, she and her husband enjoy a competitive game of cribbage, hiking with their dog, fishing, and skiing (when there’s snow).
