World Council of Credit Unions to Host Webinar on Housing Affordability


The World Council of Credit Unions is hosting a virtual event, Housing Affordability and Credit Unions – Lessons from Canada to the World, on November 14 at 10:00 am. The webinar will also feature Anthony Piscitelli, Director of the Conestoga Social Innovation Lab, who will discuss the results of a study examining how credit unions can make housing more affordable. The Lab’s report outlines eleven trends for credit unions to consider in their planning including: shared equity, rent-to-own, impact investments, thematic savings products, MLI select, co-ownership mortgages, mortgages for non-traditional homes, Halal mortgages, new cooperative housing, pooled accounts, and grants/donations.
