WABI TV Provides Coverage of Last Week’s Ending Hunger Golf Tournament Hosted by Bangor FCU

(From WABI TV) – Bangor FCU hosted their annual Ending Hunger Golf Tournament.

Folks hit the links in Orrington Thursday morning to raise money to fight food insecurity across the state of Maine. Now in it’s tenth year, the tournament partners with other Maine credit unions for the Campaign for Ending Hunger. Bangor FCU says it’s a great way to bring the community and a number of sponsors together to help a growing problem.

“It’s fantastic that we get to do this event to benefit these different organizations that battle food insecurity in our backyards. It’s a growing problem, and the partners we deal with, their need grows every single year. We anecdotally, hear stories of how they’re adding a dozen new families to their roster of people that need help. I’ve only been a part of this for a few years now, but for us, every year to come here and raise close to $10,000 in a single day, and then at the end of the year, have $30 to $40,000 to distribute. It’s a really awesome thing, and it’s a great part of what we do, not only as an organization, but collectively with all credit unions across the state,” said Cody Morgan, Marketing Director for Bangor FCU.
