The County FCU Hires New CFO

Tony Lahey

The County FCU is pleased to announce that Tony Lahey has been hired as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective August 2024.

Lahey grew up in Caribou and attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle, where he earned a double major in Accounting and Business Administration. He began his career as an accounts payable clerk at Cary Medical Center and then became the business office manager at Aroostook Home Health Services for five years. In 2008, he became the director of finance for Pines Health Services until 2018. Lahey then joined MMG Insurance Company as an accountant and was promoted to senior accountant in 2020.

“I am thrilled to be a part of such an amazing organization that has such deep roots here in Aroostook County,” said Lahey. “Having a culture of People Helping People that extends from the employees all the way through to our members has always made The County FCU a highly-respected financial institution and one that people know they can go to for a friendly face and an amazing experience for whatever financial needs they have. The staff at The County treat everyone who walks through their doors as family, and that is a big reason why it was such an easy decision to join this wonderful group of people whose collective mission is always to do the right thing for everyone we serve. I am very excited about what the future holds and am truly honored to be a small part of the team that gets to move this organization even further into the future.”

Lahey has spent a great deal of time volunteering on different committees and councils throughout his career. He currently sits on the Northern Maine Community College Business & Accounting Department Advisory Board; the Northern Maine Community College Foundation Board; and has previously sat on the United Way of Aroostook Board as the treasurer, vice chair, and chair. He completed the Leadership Maine Program in 2016 where he focused on leadership strengths and Maine’s economy.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tony as our new CFO,” said Ryan Ellsworth, President & CEO at The County FCU. “His extensive finance and accounting experience in the healthcare and insurance industries will bring invaluable insights to our team. His expertise is expected to notably enhance our accounting department’s procedures and overall performance, driving us toward greater efficiency and financial success.”
