People Helping People is what credit unions are all about. In good times and in bad, credit unions can be counted on to offer their assistance no matter the circumstance. That’s exactly what Brewer FCU did when they learned the OHI Brewer Food Pantry needed support.
The pantry put out a call for help on its Facebook page after one of their upright freezers broke. Their plea caught the attention of the credit union. As part of Brewer FCU’s strong commitment to ending hunger in the community, the credit union purchased a brand-new freezer to help the pantry meet the critical need of keeping perishable items cold. The new freezer was delivered on August 20.
“We were thrilled to help support the purchase of something so important,” shared David DeFroscia, President/CEO at Brewer FCU. “The new freezer will hopefully ensure the preservation of healthy food for our community for years to come.”
