After five years, the League is excited to bring back the Legislative Forum to the Harraseeket Inn on September 10. The Legislative Forum is the League’s signature political event featuring iconic speakers, great discussion, and networking. Registration is now open, and credit unions can secure their spot by signing up on the League’s website today.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the Legislative Forum as a stand-alone event this year,” shared Robert Caverly, League Vice President of Advocacy & Outreach. “Credit unions play a critical role in the advocacy process and I’m looking forward to bringing everyone together to discuss the political environment and how we work together to move our nation, state, and communities forward.”
With an eye toward the November election, the League is pleased to announce that Mo Elleithee, a nationally-recognized Democratic political and communications strategist, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker. Elleithee is the former Communications Director of the Democratic National Committee and served as both a Senior Spokesperson and traveling Press Secretary for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign. He is a former Fox News contributor and is the founding Executive Director of Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service.
“Welcoming Mo Elleithee to Maine also is an honor,” added Caverly. “Both on the campaign trail and off, Elleithee has played a key role in shaping American politics today. In his position at Georgetown University, he has positioned himself as a voice of reason. I admire his ability to unify people through conversation.”
The Legislative Forum will begin at 9:00 am and run until 3:00 pm. A full event agenda will be available soon.
