CUs Share for ME Mid-Year Reminder

July is a turning point in the calendar. With 2025 creeping around the corner, this halfway mark in the year is a great time to remind credit unions about the importance of tracking and submitting their volunteer hours through the CUs Share for ME portal.

Each year, Maine credit unions report thousands of hours of volunteerism, with their staff spending a significant amount of time supporting organizations and causes in communities across the state. It is important to track these efforts to ensure we are effectively communicating how Maine credit unions carry out our People Helping People philosophy when speaking with the media, political leaders, and the public.

In 2023, Maine credit unions contributed 29,294.98 hours hours in volunteer time. In total, these efforts are worth approximately $931,558.10 in donated time and is a great example of the credit union difference. Volunteerism also is recognized at the Ending Hunger Luncheon in February. Credit unions with the most recorded volunteer hours are honored at the annual event.

Most credit unions input their hours monthly, but if you haven’t logged your 2024 volunteerism yet, now is a perfect opportunity to get your contributions tracked—allowing for retroactive reporting back to January.
