Town & Country FCU Partners with Maine Cancer Foundation on ‘Check ME’ Initiative

For the second straight year, Town & Country FCU committed significant resources to raise awareness about the importance of regular cancer checks through its ‘CheckME’ initiative. As a major supporter of the Maine Cancer Foundation (MCF), Town & Country FCU is closely aligned with MCF’s mission to increase screenings and early detection.

“’CheckME’ is an effort to encourage people to speak with their healthcare provider about regular screenings for all types of cancer because we understand the importance of early detection in its direct correlation to saving lives,” shared David Libby, President of Town & Country FCU. “In addition to promoting financial wellness in our community, we are dedicated to finding ways to promote physical wellness. Our commitment to ‘Local Helping Local’ extends far beyond finances and we not only want to increase cancer screenings but also awareness for all that Maine Cancer Foundation provides to our community.”

While Town & Country FCU’s 2021 ‘CheckME’ initiative involved a nearly $20,000 public service campaign on TV and social media during the month of October, the credit union expanded the 2022 initiative to cover October and November through radio public service announcements, TV commercials, social media, and a new web page dedicated solely to ‘CheckME’. In total, the 2022 campaign resulted in a nearly $40,000 awareness effort to promote the MCF and cancer screenings.
